Dr Nikolaos Fyllas
Nikos is an assistant professor at the Department of Environment, University of the Aegean. He is interested in soil-plant-atmosphere interactions and ecosystem dynamics. His work integrates field observations and ecosystem models, particularly in Tropical and Mediterranean forests. He coordinates the development of the Trait-based Forest Simulator (TFS), a trait spectra and individual-based model of forest dynamics. TFS is used within the GEM-Trait project to integrate data from intensively monitored plots in order to explore the patterns of tropical forest productivity and their vulnerability to global change.
